Marsha Blackburn Says America’s Rapidly-Growing Debt is Immoral, Robs Future Generations

U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) said on a recent podcast that the constantly-increasing federal debt imperils future generations and could rob them of their chance to pursue the American Dream.

Blackburn said this on the talk show, Over-Caffeinated.

The Beacon Center of Tennessee, a Nashville-based free market think tank, produces the online show.

“What I will not do is for the sake of bipartisanship pass things that are part of the socialist Democratic Party agenda, which we see taking place in this$1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, which is only 25 percent about infrastructure. Then on top of that the $3.5 trillion budget, which turned into $4.2 trillion by the time it was presented. Now we are hearing it’s $5 trillion and then the $2 trillion they have already done in spending,” Blackburn said.

“What they are doing is pushing our national debt to the stratosphere with what they are trying to push. Within 10 years we will be well above $40 trillion in debt. Putting this in perspective, if you look at the debt history from George Washington to George W. Bush, our nation’s debt was at $10.6 trillion. Then Barack Obama and Joe Biden double it. Then Donald Trump added to it and COVID added to it. And now Biden in the first six or seven months is going to push us up over $30 trillion. This is astounding, the amount of debt. It is as if there is no respect for the taxpayer.”

Beacon Center President Justin Owen said on the podcast that Americans should discuss the debt, but, unfortunately, they are too busy attacking and belittling one another.

Blackburn said it’s immoral to ram the federal deficit up to these levels.

“I’ve got a granddaughter that is about to turn one-year-old. Her share of our nation’s debt is $83,000. What does that do to her version of the American dream? Her desires? Her hopes?” Blackburn asked.

“Why would we selfishly, in order to get programs that will outlive their usefulness by the time she earns a paycheck, why would we choose to burden our children? Why would we limit their opportunity? Why would we sacrifice their chance of the American dream or of our freedoms?”

I remember her saying “Well… If they’ll just cut the budget…” 5% across the board. If its good enough for Tennessee, its good enough for the U.S. as a whole. Make it happen!

Marsha! Your first vote in the senate was for warmonger/RINO Tax and spend Mitch McConnell as leader! Why aren’t you calling Mitch to resign as senate gop leader since you supported him? Mitch just supported another 1.5 trillion on new spending and helping Joe Biden! You kept your promise to McConnell and broke your promises to Tennesseans to support Trump! You have been in Washington since 2003! What have you done for us Tennesseans? Please resign snd take RINO McConnell with you! McConnell dies not have a vote in Tennessee!

You were in office for ten years under Republican Presidents. Why wasn’t more done to address this issue?

I agree, but what is Miss Marsha doing about it? Apparently nothing but a bunch of talk.

Marsha can talk all she wants. She’s an expert at playing in the shadows of the political arena.
But this American will forever remember when she failed to show-up and speak in her scheduled slot at the rally in front of the White House on January 6th. Right then, all of us from Tennessee knew that she would not stand up for our President later that day! We all know now that she never intended to stand up for us. She just used the “insurrection” BS as a cover story! Hmmm, maybe she was even privy all along to the plan by Pelosi to make it look like an insurrection? The swamp at work…against We the People!

Then why didn’t you do something about it when the GOP had a majority in the House AND Senate?

Marsha. All you do is talk talk talk. It’s time we voted you and your empty suit out of office
